10º Anniversario di European Alternatives
2007 - 2017
L'EVENTO
Dieci anni fa, uno dei motivi per il lancio di European Alternatives, era contribuire a dare nuove energie ad un continente incapace di trovare le energie culturali e politiche necessarie a rinnovarsi. Uno sguardo agli ultimi dieci anni ci dimostra che a livello delle istituzioni politiche questa energia volta al rinnovamento è sicuramente mancante. Allo stesso tempo, una politica locale volta alla contestazione si è diffusa in tutto il continente, e European Alternatives ha lavorato per mettere in rete gli elementi dispersi di questo rinnovamento, e allo stesso tempo, ha agito da pioniere di una cittadinanza europea transnazionale.
Nella cornice di THE INDEPENDENT, il progetto di ricerca del MAXXI nato per ampliare e sfidare i limiti attuali delle istituzioni museali, per stimolare ed elaborare diversi modi per agire nella contemporaneità – European Alternatives organizza Terzo tempo / Overtime un progetto a due capitoli composto da una giornata di dibattiti e azioni intorno all’idea di Europa e da una mappa illustrata dall’artista Marco Raparelli e dedicata a dieci anni di movimenti sociali in Europa.
Durante la giornata presenteremo anche il nuovo spazio del THE INDEPENDENT nella sala Guido Reni– dove sarà esposto un muro artistico a cura di Marco Raparelli, un visual artist romano.
Questa mappa è un progetto artistico che riflette sui movimenti politici e sociali transnazionali nati dopo la crisi finanziaria del 2008 e fino al 2017, come anche sulle azioni che European Alternatives ha messo in campo nell’ultimo decennio per connettere, supportare e cooperare con questi movimenti.
Da Blockupy a Francoforte fino a Nuit Debout a Parigi, dalla connessioni nella European Commons Assembly fino alla mobilitazione per il diritto all’acqua pubblica nel continente.
Una mappa artistica che sarà in mostra nel museo per una settimana e mostrerà le iniziative alternative che hanno funzionato per la creazione di un’Europa diversa.
